HI Brad.
Pairing 2 cobalt birds would breed some cobalt chicks as well as DDblue or mauve chicks which is grey in colour. This is because a cobalt carries 1 D gene. Pairing a muve to green would result in chicks with 1 D gene, known as dark green or chicks with 2 D genese known as DD green or olive.

Hi Richard,

This is a totally different species to the Fischer's Lovebird. Yes, they do look similar to the untrained eye, but this bird is in fact a Masked Lovebird and its colour mutation is 'Cobalt". This colour can be achieved by breeding a Blue Masked Lovebird with a Jade Masked Lovebirds split for Blue
